 These hands.

Barbed wire scarred.

Bruised, but never broken.

Burned and callused from a rope.

Freckled from the sun.

Muddy.

Dry.

Wrinkled.

They've written letters, notes, stories.

The nails have been chewed, trimmed, painted.

There's a ring on the left hand, a reflection of a...

I know, now, why Mom and Dad left the way they did in September of 1999, from the lawn on the campus of EOU..

We took Katlyn to school last Friday so we could help her get checked in and situated.  We all knew going in that Papa and I and Weebeast wouldn't be staying lo...

Husbeast came down the mountain a few days ago and said we had cows on the neighbor's side of the fence.  They were very happily hiding in the tall brush, down in the canyons and on troughs that they don't belong near.

We celebrated Katlyn's next steps in life, last weekend, and had a graduation/going away party.

In a couple of weeks, she, like so many other college freshmen, will move in to her dorm and settle in to the college experience.

The cool thing for her, is that we've figured a few things o...

When I found our cows in the jungle of willows you see below, I could count 40.  Translation: There were 80 in there...

The worst thing about branding season is when it ends. We are always excited when a mid-summer branding comes up, even if it's only a handful of calves that need to be done. Yesterday I got a text from our friends up the road.  They had 14 calves that needed to be done...

We are off and running with haying season.  It's never been my favorite thing to do because I can't sit still as long as it's required of me.  I'm getting better.  I would rather hay than be broke down of course.

Jumping back a step...June was a whirlwind of a...
